THE CIVITAVECCHIA-ARBATAX-CAGLIARI LINE ENTRUSTED AGAIN TO THE GRIMALDI GROUP
Naples, 23 March 2022: The Grimaldi Group has won once again the Italian Ministry of Sustainable Infrastructure and Mobility tender for the Civitavecchia-Arbatax-Cagliari line, thus guaranteeing territorial continuity without interruption for the transport of freight and passengers to and from the island of Sardinia.

The frequency of the service remains unchanged, operating three times a week with two intermediate calls in the port of Arbatax in both directions. In addition, during next August, the company will provide additional departures from Civitavecchia to Arbatax on Thursday and from Arbatax to Civitavecchia on Saturday. Reservations on the website www.grimaldi-lines.com are open until 31 December 2022.

The ro/pax ferry Catania will remain deployed on the line. This Italian-flagged vessel can carry over 2,200 linear meters of rolling freight (cars, vans, trucks, semi-trailers, etc.) and up to 955 passengers. Available for the latter there are 93 cabins of various types (inside, oceanview and superior-class), all with air conditioning and en suite facilities, some equipped for passengers with reduced mobility, as well as a comfortable lounge with reclining seats. The various on-board facilities include à la carte and self-service restaurants, 24-hour bar service, a shop and a video games area. Moreover, with the purchase a pet kit, passengers can travel with their four-legged friends in any type of cabin, which is then equipped with a special bed kit and, after use, undergoes a special cleaning treatment.

The Catania is also equipped with systems that reduce its environmental footprint, such as exhaust gas cleaning systems for cutting sulphur and particulate emissions and the silicone coating of the hull, which increases the fuel efficiency of the ship.

"Our Group continues to commit to serving the main Sardinian ports in an increasingly extensive way, ensuring territorial continuity with mainland Italy," said the Neapolitan Group Managing Director Emanuele Grimaldi. "Our network of maritime services is now a point of reference for traffic to and from Sardinia, as it concretely responds to the need for efficient connections to the entire Italian peninsula".

The Grimaldi Group offers several maritime connections to and from Sardinia. These include the historic Civitavecchia-Porto Torres-Barcelona route and other regular lines for the transport of both freight and passengers, such as Civitavecchia-Olbia, Naples-Cagliari-Palermo and Civitavecchia-Arbatax-Cagliari. In addition, the new Savona-Porto Torres ro/pax connection will be launched in April. The company also operates freight only services linking Porto Torres with Genoa, and Cagliari with Genoa, Livorno, Salerno and Valencia/Sagunto.
