Grimaldi Guinée SA: the Group's new branch inaugurated in Conakry
Grimaldi
Guinée SA, the new direct branch of the Grimaldi Group in Guinea, opened in the
capital city Conakry in July, strengthening the Company’s commercial and
operational presence in the country.
Led by
General Manager Daouda Gueye, Grimaldi Guinée SA currently employs 15
people, with the team expected to grow in the near future. The local staff are
responsible for supporting customers and coordinating the Group’s commercial
and operational activities in Guinea, strengthening the connection between the
country and Grimaldi’s global network.
The
decision to establish a direct presence in Guinea reflects the significant
growth opportunities offered by the local market, not only in the mining
sector, but also in consumer goods and infrastructure projects. Against this
backdrop, the port of Conakry plays a strategic role as a key gateway to the
country and an important hub for transit cargo.
The con-ro
vessels deployed on the Group’s deepsea services are particularly
well suited to meet the diverse logistics requirements of the Guinean market.
Their configuration allows for the efficient transport of a broad range of
cargo, including vehicles, earthmoving and mining equipment, project cargo
on Mafis (mobile loading platforms) and containerized cargo.
For Guinea,
Grimaldi’s primary maritime link is from Northern Europe to Conakry. Through
strategic hubs within the Group’s network, the country is also connected to key
markets in the United States, the Mediterranean, the Middle East and Africa, as
well as China. This network provides customers with a broad range of options
for transporting cargo to and from Guinea.
With the
opening of Grimaldi Guinée SA, the Group is therefore further consolidating its
network in West Africa, bringing its maritime transport solutions closer to
local customers, and supporting the development of trade flows and logistics
connections with both Guinea and the wider region.
