ACL confirms excellence with renewed QUALSHIP 21 certification
The Atlantic Container Line (ACL) fleet
successfully renewed its U.S. Coast Guard QUALSHIP 21 (Quality Shipping for the
21st Century Program) status for a second consecutive cycle.
The QUALSHIP 21 certification is valid for
three years and reaffirms the company’s strong performance under the U.S. Port
State Control program. This achievement reflects ACL\'s
continued commitment to the highest standards of safety, regulatory
compliance, and operational discipline.
The criteria for a vessel to achieve QUALSHIP 21
include being registered with a QUALSHIP 21 qualified flag administration,
as well as having no substandard vessel detentions in the United States, no
marine violations or serious marine casualties, and no more than one Notice of
Violation (NOV) in the country in the previous 36 months. In addition, the
vessel must have successfully completed a U.S. Port State Control safety
examination within the previous 24 months, and must not be owned or operated by
a company associated with more than one Port State Control (PSC) detention
in U.S. waters during
that timeframe.
The vessels Atlantic Sail, Atlantic Sea,
Atlantic Sky, Atlantic Star, and Atlantic Sun have once again
achieved QUALSHIP 21 certification, placing ACL among a select group of
carriers worldwide whose entire fleet holds this prestigious recognition.
This result also reflects
the professionalism
and attention to detail of the vessels’ captains and crews, whose consistent
commitment to high operational standards has contributed to outstanding
inspection results, making this achievement possible.
