Celebration of 25 years of successful partnership between the Grimaldi Group and Port of Cork
The recent
visit by a delegation from Port of Cork Company to the Grimaldi Group’s
headquarters in Naples marked an important milestone in their long-standing
partnership.
The
presence of CEO Ann Doherty, CFO Donal Crowley and Commercial
Manager David Browne provided an opportunity to celebrate 25 years of
successful collaboration between the Irish port and the Italian shipping
company: an alliance founded on mutual trust, shared ambitions and a common
vision for the future of maritime transport. This partnership has played a key
role in facilitating trade and connectivity between Ireland, continental Europe
and beyond.
Discussions
focused on current and future market trends, with particular emphasis on
sustainable growth opportunities and continued strategic alignment. Attention
was given to the Grimaldi Group’s ongoing investment in new, environmentally
friendly vessels, as well as the launch of new services aimed at improving
efficiency and reducing emissions across its network.
“We
greatly value our long-standing partnership with Grimaldi Lines, and it’s a
pleasure to celebrate 25 years of successful collaboration,” said Ann
Doherty, who presented Grimaldi Group Managing Director Emanuele Grimaldi
with a plaque. “We look forward to continuing to work closely together to
achieve future growth and sustainability.”
“We
sincerely thank the Port of Cork delegation for their visit,” said Mr Grimaldi.
“Reaching this 25-year milestone fills us with pride and inspires us to
deepen our cooperation, delivering reliable and sustainable maritime services
that support the growth of the region and its community.”
In fact,
since the late 1990s, Grimaldi has played a crucial role in enhancing trade
connections between Ireland and the rest of the world. With regular and
frequent calls at Cork, Dublin and Rosslare, the Group’s vessels have connected
the country to a maritime network now spanning five continents.
In
addition, the Italian shipping company is the co-founder – together with its
long-standing local partner Ocean & General Maritime Agencies Ltd – and
majority shareholder of Euromed Ireland Logistics Ltd (EMIL). The latter
operates a storage area, a PDI centre and a trucking fleet for the finished
vehicle logistics market in Cork, together with a container handling and
storage franchise in Rosslare Europort and lashing and securing services in
both ports.
