Fourth ship enters service on the Italy-Greece-Turkey routes
Four ro-ro
vessels are currently operating on the Grimaldi Group’s regular routes between
Italy, Greece and Turkey. Having become a well-established point of reference
in this market, since the beginning of October the Neapolitan Company has also
deployed the Eurocargo Roma, which joined the Eco Salerno, Eco
Malta and Eco Mediterranea – all hybrid ships with reduced
environmental impact that can carry over 500 trailers each.
With
capacity of 250 rolling cargo units per departure, the Eurocargo Roma provides
a direct connection between Trieste and Gemport and vice versa. This brings to
four per week the round trips operated by
the Grimaldi Group between the two ports.
At the same
time, the Group continues to guarantee three departures a week on the
Trieste-Ambarli route (in both directions), as well as the weekly connections
between the ports of Ambarli and Gemlik and between Bari and Patras.
Overall,
the transport capacity for rolling cargo offered on the Turkey market by this
service has increased significantly, from 3,000 to 3,500 units per week.
