Customers rate Finnlines “Ferry Operator of the Year”

Finnlines was declared “Ferry Operator of the Year” at the Grand Travel Award gala, which took place on 2 June in Helsinki. In 2025 this prestigious award ceremony, a major annual event in Nordic countries for the last 30 years, was held in Finland for the first time. The gala was attended by 250 tourism professionals from across the country.

The event is designed to celebrate the top performers in the tourism industry and raise the profile of the sector. The award-winning companies were selected based on an objective survey involving approximately 4,700 consumers.

Finnlines offers customers sustainable transport and travel across the Baltic Sea, where its ro-pax vessels combine passenger and cargo services. The company has consistently invested in sustainable development and environmental technology, introducing five new vessels in the past three years.

This investment policy is ongoing: in April 2025, Finnlines ordered three new “Hansa Superstar” vessels for the Finland–Germany route, which will begin operating in 2028–2029. Passenger comfort and a first-class customer experience are at the heart of the new fleet members’ design, inspired by Finnlines’ Superstar-class ships, the Finnsirius and Finncanopus.

"We’re delighted to receive this honour,” commented Finnlines’ Head of Passenger Services Marco Palmu, who accepted the award at the gala with Communications Manager Heidi Österberg.  “This is a wonderful testimony to the entire Finnlines team’s hard work in ensuring customer satisfaction. I would like to thank our customers and Grand Travel Award Finland. We intend to continue our fruitful work with our professional staff and partners.
