Minoan Lines supports firefighting operations in Milos
Following
the outbreak of a fire on the Greek island of Milos on 19 June, the Grimaldi
Group company Minoan Lines took charge of the free sea transport of six
firefighting trucks and a team of 20 firefighters, who departed from Piraeus on
the vessel Festos Palace to assist in battling the blaze.
Besides
demonstrating once again the company’s sensitivity to local communities’ needs,
this operation shows in practice the importance of having added a daily call at
Milos to the Piraeus-Heraklion-Piraeus route – a recent innovation in the
company’s service offer which has strengthened the support to the island in
critical situations such as this one.
