“Grimaldi Recruitment” for the selection of seafarers
Naples, 5 March 2024: The Grimaldi Group has once again confirmed its
participation in LETExpo - Logistics Eco Transport Trade Show, the fair
dedicated to sustainable logistics, transport and business services which will take
place from 12 to 15 March at the Veronafiere exhibition center in Verona
(Italy).
During
the event, the Group will present its dense network of maritime connections for
the transport of rolling freight and passengers offered with the Grimaldi
Lines, Finnlines, Minoan Lines and Trasmed brands, in the Mediterranean
basin as well as in the Baltic and North Seas.
Great
emphasis will be given to the numerous innovations relating to the services that
the Grimaldi Group companies offer to their customers. The recent strengthening
of Grimaldi Lines’ Brindisi-Igoumenitsa twice-daily service has already proved
successful: here the company has deployed the vessel Europalink, guaranteeing even
more transport capacity and comfort on its connections between Italy and Greece.
Compared to the ship Igoumenitsa, that she has
replaced on the line since 29 February, the Europalink
can transport 20% more passengers and approximately 50% more trucks on each voyage.
Added to this significant increase in capacity is the enhanced service quality
offered to passengers and drivers. The new ship has joined another modern ro-pax unit, the Kydon
Palace, on the line where the Grimaldi Group offers two regular daily
departures from each of the two ports.
The
fair will also be an excellent opportunity to present the ‘dual enhancement’ of Finnlines’ Biscay Line, for the transport of rolling freight between
Finland, Germany, Belgium and Spain. The two improvements are the
introduction of the port of Vigo among those served by the line and the
doubling of the service frequency between Spain and Belgium, now with two
scheduled calls per week in the ports of Bilbao, Vigo and Zeebrugge. This way,
the Biscay Line – which has maintained its weekly frequency in the other
Northern European ports – has brought the Atlantic coasts even closer to the
countries bordering the Baltic and Northern Seas, making the interconnection
between the various lines operated by Finnlines and the entire Grimaldi Group
network even more effective. The line is served by the brand new Finneco I,
Finneco II and Finneco III, which – like all the Grimaldi Group
Eco-class ships – stand out on account of their high loading capacity and
reduced environmental impact.
Representatives
from the Grimaldi Group and its subsidiaries Finnlines, Minoan Lines and
Trasmed GLE will meet visitors and logistics operators at their exhibition
space located in Hall 3 - stand D3.
In
addition, in Hall 2 - stand D6 there will be a "Grimaldi
Recruitment" stand for the selection of seafarers for various roles in
all sections - hotel, engine and deck - who will become part of highly
qualified crews employed on modern ships dedicated to the transport of
passengers and freight.
