Grimaldi Group honoured at China Awards 2023

On 13 December, at the China Awards 2023 – promoted by the Italy China Council Foundation – the Grimaldi Group was honoured together with other companies and personalities who stood out for their success in trade between Italy and China this year. In particular, the Neapolitan company received the prestigious "Silk Road" award, recognition granted to Italian companies with an impressive track record in terms of a long and significant growth and development path in the Chinese market.

The China Awards ceremony took place in the Auditorium of the Leonardo da Vinci Museum of Science and Technology in Milan. “China is a very important country for us – historically for shipbuilding but also, from this year, for the launch of regular shipping lines and the opening of our new branch in Shanghai,” explained Grimaldi Group Euromed & Far East/Europe Line Manager Luigi Pacella Grimaldi after collecting the award.

Indeed, in recent years the ties between the Grimaldi Group and China have grown increasingly strong. Since 2018 the Italian Group has invested over $3 billion in the construction of 33 new buildings at Chinese shipyards. In addition, thanks to the use of 12 Pure Car & Truck Carrier ships, the Grimaldi Group currently serves different Chinese ports on a regular basis for the transport of vehicles to and from Europe and other Asian countries. More specifically, several Chinese vehicle manufacturers use the Grimaldi Group's maritime services for export to different markets.
