Naples, 5th February 2019: The Grimaldi Group confirms once again its participation in the Fruit Logistica Fair, the largest international event for fruit and vegetable logistics, to be held in Berlin on 6-8 February 2019.

The Neapolitan Group, European leader in the Motorways of the Sea, will illustrate to all the main stakeholders operating in the fruit and vegetable supply chain, its wide network of maritime services offered under the Grimaldi Lines, Finnlines and Minoan Lines brands, covering the Mediterranean basin, as well as the Baltic and Northern Seas. A valid alternative to pure road transport, maritime transport avoids road congestion, delivery delays, excessive fuel costs, offering on-time and, more importantly, regular deliveries thanks to daily connections offered by the Grimaldi Group between the most important areas of import-export of fruit and vegetables.

Special emphasis will be given to the daily mixed freight/passenger line between Salerno and Catania and to the connections between Sardinia and the main Mediterranean ports. The Group will also present the lengthening and refurbishment project involving its cruise ferries Cruise Roma and Cruise Barcelona, currently underway at the Fincantieri shipyard in Palermo, which will increase their carrying capacity and will further improve the quality of the services offered for the trades between Continental Italy, Sardinia and Spain.

“Once again, the Grimaldi Group has chosen to attend this important gathering with the major players in the fruit and vegetable trade", says Eugenio Grimaldi, Line Manager Short Sea Lines of the Grimaldi Group. "Our extensive network of Motorways of the Sea keeps expanding with more and more frequent high-quality services including the main ports of the Mediterranean, the North and Baltic Seas. This is what makes us a reference maritime operator in the global supply chain also for companies operating in the fruit and vegetable sector".
